Making this is simple and take literally 0 time. All you need is a few things from the store.
You will need:
Beans- All kinds- any that you like (black and red beans are great)
Veggies (any that suit you, canned, fresh, frozen)
Turkey- you need to cook this first/brown it just a little
Chili Powder and Seasoning if you like
Onion flakes (or real chopped onion)
Sea salt- JUST A PINCH or no need if you don't want it
Pepper to taste (if you like pepper)
Tomato Paste
Tomato chunks
And a Crock Pot :)
Now how much of all of the above you add will depend on the size of your crock pot. I will add several cans of beans, one to two cans of paste (depending on size of can), several cans of diced tomatoes, two to three finely chopped peppers and about a cup of chopped onion (if you like onion). Pepper is again to taste and can be added after the cooking for individual preference. Salt should be added at just a pinch or 0 salt, I don't use any. A small ground turkey pkg will do and again make sure it is cooked well.
Tomato paste and chili powder mix
Here we are adding the carrots to the bean mixture directly into the crock pot
Diced Tomatoes are a great addition!
Here we add the paste with mixed chili powder to our veggies and the beans in the crock pot
Look how beautiful these beans are!
Chili Mix is optional, it is great and low in sodium, there is also a great chili mix made by WILDTREE, ask me where to get it!
GOD THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL PEPPERS, added to beans and other veggies in crock.
Chili powder as an addition: with the chili mix OR without the chili mix!
YUMMY mushrooms headed to their final resting place, well until they hit my belly :) into the crock pot they go
Everything mixed up together, READY to cook!!
Now we place the crock pot on high and allow it to cook for about 4 hours. Meanwhile we cook up the turkey and add it about 2 hours into the cooking process. Once the turkey is added we will cook it the additional 2 hours. Taste test to make sure enough chili powder has been added.
Look at that how great and super yummy! We added a nice piece of wheat bread (again not needed but a good addition)! How yummy!!!
